1965: Begin construction of SWA
1970: Put into formal production
1979: The China¡¯s first batch of exported aluminum plates made by
SWA were on sale in Hong Kong.
1980: annual output 22,500 tons, sales income up to 100 millions RMB
yuan
1985: output and production value doubled than that of year 1980
1987: Acquired the license for manufacturing precise aviation die
forgings and forging stock granted by Boeing company, U.S.A
1989: annual output 50,000 tons
1990: Start to carry out a massive modernization and expansion
1992: Super-thin sheet line were put into production, which filled
the vacancy of making super-thin Al sheets and strips with high
accuracy and high performance in China, it symbolized that the
development of China¡¯s non-ferrous metal materials industry had
entered into a new stage.
1993: The first one which was qualified both from international and
domestic approvals of ISO 9002 Quality Certification System among
domestic super large-sized enterprises.
1996: the title of ¡°comprehensive aluminium fabrication enterprise
with largest scale and most advanced equipment in China¡± was
conferred by the Development Research Center of State Council
1997: on Nov 27th, the large special Al-alloy profiles developed by
SWA for aviation reached the world advanced technical level through
assessment by the experts team of China Natioal Non-Ferrous Metal
Industry Corporation
1998: on Feb 23rd, SWA accessed into the global Internet web
on April 27th, SWA Forging Plant successfully developed first batch
of large Al-alloy profiles for metro & high speed train vehicles
1999: on Sep 1st, SWA held a ceremony for start working of special
profiles project.
In the same year, the inequilateral abnormal Al-alloy ring with max.
diameter of 2114 mm, thinnest thickness of 145 mm and color coated
sheet, which these two items were developed and produced by SWA,
have been selected into the ¡°New Records Of Chinese Enterprise¡±
2000: Make a breakthrough of over 100,000 tons, reached an annual
output of 116,000 tons with sales income of 2.1 billion RMB yuan,
the company accomplished historical leap over.
On Dec 18th, Southwest Aluminum (Group) Co., Ltd. was founded while
an initial modern enterprise system was set up.
2001: on Nov 22nd, SWA Special Profiles Co., Ltd produced a first
batch of large AL-alloy profile for vehicle
2002: on Oct 30th, the first prestretching line for large-sized
Al-alloy plate in Asia has been built up and put into production.
2003: on June 15th, SWA Foil Plant successfully developed electronic
foil for high voltage purpose.
2004: on Sep 16th, the CHINALCO ¨C SWA Plates & Strips Co. Ltd was
founded.
2004: on Nov 3rd, SWA has passed the qualification of ISO 14001
Enviorment Management System & GB/T28001 Employment Health Safty
Management System
2004: annual output of aluminium products was over 200,000 tons, and
reached 214, 000 tons; the target of main equipment capacity has
been realized.
2005: On June 28th, CHINALCO ¨C SWA Hot Tandem Rolling Line was
completed put into production.
