Recently, a giant aluminum alloy ring with the diameter of 6.10 meter was successfully produced in SWA. This symbolized a great break through in huge aluminum alloy ring molding has been made by the people in SWA and the record of No.1 aluminum alloy forging ring was refreshed by them again.

SWA is filled with pride and enthusiasm to supply more high precision aluminum products, focusing the more profound outer space and trying to devote to the SHENZHOU 7 after triumphantly supplied the giant 5-meter class aluminum alloy forging ring to the carrier rocket for china’s space project. In June, SWA undertook the task of developing the super large scale aluminum forging ring for space and aviation use again. But this time the task became an obstacle, the capacity of ring roll can only produce the 5-meter diameter class aluminum alloy ring. It means only to find a new way in developing. As the problem of how to mold reached the critical level, engineers in SWA tried every effort to settle the problems and put numerous painstaking in design, process, molding, quality control. After 5 months’ hard working, we finally achieved the success and made out the giant forging ring with 6.1 meter diameter.

This breakthrough for large aluminum alloy forging ring will provide strong technical support and technological support to the future manufacturing. With the continuous improvement and maturity of this process, it will lay the foundation for making larger scale forging ring, and construct the new backbone for china’s space project in the coming future.
