Southwest Aluminum (Group) Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as ”SWA”) subordinated to the CHINALCO was found on 18th Dec, 2000, reformed the system from the Southwest Aluminum Fabrication Plant which was prepared in 1950s and constructed in 1960s. Through over 40 years’ construction and development, SWA has become into a comprehensive super large size aluminum fabrication enterprise for its largest production scale, most advanced equipments, most full ranged product varieties in China, and also the material guarantee base for our national aviation and aerospace, the manufacturing base for high, precise, sophisticated aluminum sheets, strips and foils, the exporting base of fabricated aluminum products in China.SWA gathers together the most advanced technical equipments amongst China’s aluminum fabrication industry. It’s equipped with the international advanced level high, precise, sophisticated aluminum and aluminum sheets, strips hot tandem rolling line, the 300 MN hydraulic die forging press, 125 MN hydraulic horizontal extruding press, 2800mm hot and cold rolling mill, 1850mm super thin sheet rolling mills, 1700mm aluminum foil mills, 80MN hydraulic horizontal extruding press, pre-stretching line, 1600mm coating line, architectural profile manufacture line and anodizing line etc. SWA provides primarily aluminum and its alloy sheets and plates, strips, foils, tubes, rods and bars, profiles, hand forgings, die forgings, aluminum welding tubes, AL-Li alloy, high temperature alloy and colorful painted steel strip products etc. which consists of six series as its leading products used in aviation and aerospace, communication and transportation, package, architecture, home appliances and printing industries.
SWA holds a state-certified research and development institution --- Technical Center, which consisted of a committee of experts, a research institute of aluminum alloy processing, eight professional laboratories, an Al-Li alloy researching production line, it is engaged in scientific research & development of new products, new techniques at three levels of short period, medium and long-term.
Abundant human resources gathers in SWA, 2190 professional technical personnel enrolled rating the 24.6% among the employees. There is 1 academician of the China Academy of Engineering, 22 specialists enjoying the state government allowance, 18 professorate senior engineers, 129 senior engineers, 42 senior administrative specialists, 55% are granted medium-level technical title and 48% received the bachelor’s degree.
